• Emergence is ontologically strong: what appears at each new level of complexity is genuinely new — not a recombination of what was always possible.
• The creativity principle is oriented toward beauty and complexity from the very beginning — it is not neutral and then aimed.
• Genuine freedom is real at every level of complexity where deliberation is possible.

If these starting points resonate with you (or feel worth inhabiting provisionally), you will find the system internally coherent. If they don’t, this book will probably disappoint you — and it would rather disappoint you honestly than pretend otherwise.

This book was written for people for whom the classical God has broken — not through argument, but through experience. People who are not atheists, but for whom the old model no longer holds, and who are not done with the question.
